The Recovery Process
My Written 4th Step
and Principle

Definitions of words create a barometer that we have come to believe as the truth.
Generally we create an opinion
before we know the real meanings of the words that govern our life.
But one insight that has come to me over the years is some opinions
come from the mind and some come from intuitive thought
or we feel the truth about our living Situation (whatever that is).

The 12 Principles of the Program

This was an inventory that was Written on Sun, Jan 10, 2005.
This inventory was written to link The 12 Steps and The Principles.

Principle #1
Honesty >>>

Step #1...(**)
I am powerless over other People and Things---My life becomes unmanageable when I believe they or it has power over me.

Principle #2
Hope >>>

Step #2...(**)
I came to believe that a power greater than myself could restore me to sanity from my belief that other people and other things had power over me.

Principle #3
Faith >>>

Step #3...(**)
Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
...3rd Step Prayer...(**)

God, I offer my belief that other people and things has power over me to Thee---to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of my belief that other people and things have power over me, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I accept Thy will always!

The Big Book gives you and I permission to substitute other word for SELF and DO. ...Permission...(**)

Principle #4
Courage >>>

Step #4...(**)
Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
Written1 Part 1:
I am ...Resentful...(**) at:
XYZ (Owner of) the (Company I worked for).
The Cause:
They lower my health and dental INSURANCE coverage which required me to contribute more
money to keep my coverage adequate.
Affect my:
Personal, Ambitions, Security, Self Esteem and My Pocketbook.
My Part:
Selfish-I wanted more money not less.
Self-Centered-I did not know all of the circumstances and I took it personally.
Dishonest-I did not bring this grievance to the attention of the owners.
Frightened-I would not have enough money to pay my bills.
Next I ask for help:
God please give XYZ everything he needs in his life and save me from my anger-
Thy Will Be Done-Thank You,

This was my sponsors request:
What did I do about this resentment. (It took a long time for me to understand what to do) I was about 15 years sober when this resentment started.
This is what I did:
I made arrrangements out side the Company to have my medical needs takern care of , I retired 2 years later from the company that I thought was becoming dishonest, and two years after-The most important change I made I WROTE THIS INVENTORY and ask for help. Now I will share this with another human being. For anybody that does not know this an inventory can be done one (1) resentment at a time. This might make a good outline to follow but you have to do the work.
Faith without works is dead

Written2 Part 2:
We Reviewed our FEAR Thoroughly:(**)
My Fear:
I am afraid that I will not have enough money to live on.
Why do I have this fear:
My retirement income is very meager and poor planing for retirement.
What do I do:
I ask God for help.
God remove from me the fear of not having enough money to live on so I can
direct my attention to what you would have me be-Thank You.

Written3 Part 3:
Now About My Sex Inventory...(**)
My Conduct:
I walk out on a relationship with DD without any thought of her feelings.
I was selfish:
I could only think of myself.
I was dishonest: I was practicing another addition and I did not want her to stand in the way of my practice.
I was inconsiderate:
I gave no thought to DD's physical or emotional needs.
My Conduct:
I made sexual slurs at CC an old friend and part time sponsor. My conversation with CC
was totally out of line.
I was selfcentered:
I could only think of myself.
I was dishonest:
About why I said what I said.
I was inconsiderate:
I gave no thought to CC's feeling and tried to make her feel bad about what I thought she said.
Again We Ask For Help:
God please mold my sexual ideals and help to live up to them-Thank You.
